‘Annie is going with a bang!

Bridgnorth Journal

Suzanne Millington steals the limelight in the title role of ‘Annie Get Your Gun’, Bridgnorth Operatic Society’s 50th Anniversary production at the leisure centre all this week.

Present in virtually every scene, she is at ease in all her solos, duets and group numbers whether comic romantic and has a great repartee with leading an Edmund Hobday and the backwoods children played by Kieran Swales, Hannah Jones, and Michael and Rachael Ridley.

Ably supported by Naomi Conway (Dolly), Mark Youngs (Buffalo Bill) and David Allaway (Chief Sitting Bull), she belts out ‘You can’t get a man with a gun’, ‘There’s no business like Show Business’, ‘Do’in what comes naturally’ and ‘I’ve got the sun in the morning and the Moon at Night’ with great gusto and style.

The sets, costumes and choreography are all excellent and musical director David Parkes and production Director Robert Trawford have out together a great package for all the family to enjoy. More power to their elbow - and best wishes to the society for the next 50 years.
