THE PINAFORE PIRATES

At  Bridgnorth Sports & Leisure Centre

on Saturday 25th June and Sunday 26th June 2011.

This sparkling and amusing ‘Gilbert & Sullivan’ style musical written by Malcolm Sircom and adapted by BSA’s Helen Woodman has an outstandingly tuneful score with script and lyrics bursting with wit and humour.

With many principal parts and a chorus that varies from Islanders to Pirates and from Fairies to Policemen -  all with plenty to say - audiences will find this musical entertaining and delightful.   The script and lyrics have a Gilbert & Sullivan ring to them but are uncluttered by heavy Victorianism.   The songs have the soaring melodies, thumping rhythms and catchy tunes that capture the true Sullivan flavour.

BRIDGNORTH STAGE ACADEMY (BSA)

The Bridgnorth Stage Academy was set up originally as Bridgnorth Musical Theatre Company's Junior Section.   Its aim is to give children between the ages of 6 yrs - 16 yrs the opportunity to be involved in musical theatre by developing their skills and confidence in acting, singing and dance.

A Committee of five volunteers run the Academy which,  due to its increasing success,  is now registered with The National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA).  The Academy's objective is to stage two productions each year.    There is a membership of around 50 children at the present time with a waiting list for new members.

Rehearsals are held at St Leonards School, Innage Lane, Bridgnorth each Wednesday between 5.45 pm and 7.30 pm.
