| About the Bridgnorth Musical Theatre Company |
|
Bridgnorth Musical Theatre Company are an amateur society who perform stage shows and musicals ranging from the old time classics such as ‘Calamity Jane’, ‘Anything Goes’, ‘High Society’ and ‘Me & My Girl’ to more modern shows such as ‘Godspell’ and ‘Pirates of Penzance’ Broadway Version’. The company’s main show is staged every year in the February half term week. From the previous September we meet to rehearse every Wednesday at 7.30pm. Other productions performed by the company include the annual summer concert and junior shows; which recently included ‘Esther Forever’ written by local authors David Carr & Ian Crabbe. The company is made up of a range of ages and includes a popular junior section for 6-14 year olds - Bridgnorth Stage Academy - who perform their own shows and often appear in the main shows where children or younger characters are required (refer to membership for more details). Our main show is held at Bridgnorth Leisure Centre, which is transformed from a sports hall into a theatre, which includes raked seating, staging and professional lighting & sound. As with all amateur companies and drama groups we are dependant on the sponsorship and support of local businesses and individuals who tirelessly give up their time and effort to help the production of our shows and our thanks go to all those who get involved. Please do not hesitate to contact us if would consider sponsoring the company or helping in any way. Bridgnorth Musical Theatre Company are affiliated to the NODA (National Operatic Dramatic Association) Midlands Area Region 7. |
